SBI serves notice of suspicion to Poltava regional military commissariat chief who beat up soldier

State Bureau of Investigations employees in the Poltava region announced suspicions to the head of one of the district departments of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center. This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigations. The investigation established that the head of the district TRSSC, along with two other military personnel, beat a subordinate soldier until he lost consciousness.

The head of the department had a personal dislike for the victim. The reason for this was that the subordinate openly talked about conflicts taking place within the team. The official took the chief sergeant and a soldier with him, the direct supervisor of whom was the victim. In two vehicles, around midnight, they arrived at the victim's house and called him on the phone for a conversation.

When the man came out of the house, they surrounded him and started beating him after a verbal argument. Most of the blows landed on his torso and head. The beating continued even when he was lying on the ground. The victim lost consciousness, and after that, he could barely make it to his apartment. Neighbors who saw his condition called an ambulance for him.

In the hospital, he was diagnosed with multiple bruises, a concussion, a contused head wound, and a torn ear. The head of the district TRSSC and another participant in the assault were informed of the suspicion of exceeding official powers and threatening or using violence against the chief. The issue of notifying the third participant in the assault about the suspicion is being decided.

The perpetrators face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years.
