During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan providing humanitarian assistance to the region. Nadir Khan noted that his visit to the Odessa region is his first as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ukraine.
Oleg Kiper informed the distinguished guest about the situation in the Odessa region, including the recent terrorist attacks by the Russian Federation. As a result of these strikes, residential buildings of local residents and cultural and architectural monuments that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites were destroyed in the Odessa region.
The Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration added that Russia deliberately destroys the port infrastructure in the cities of the Odessa region after its withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative. This jeopardizes the logistical routes through which it was possible to export grain from Ukraine, impacting global food security. Approximately 400 million people in seventy countries suffer from hunger due to the blockade of ports in Ukraine.
Nadir Khan assured that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will make every possible effort to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
