Today, on April 13, on the eve of the bright Easter holiday, a fair took place at Poltava Lyceum No. 6 "Leader" where students sold their crafts and treats to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The goal is quite ambitious - to purchase a kamikaze drone for the 116th TrO battalion, which is formed in the Poltava region. Students prepared for the event in advance, baking homemade goods, various desserts, sweets, and creating patriotic souvenirs.

"We want to unite the children and help our defenders, especially the Poltava TrO battalion. All of this brings our victory closer. We want to raise funds for a kamikaze drone. Its cost is over 100,000 hryvnias. Of course, one school alone cannot handle this, so we have teamed up with another educational institution, and together, we hope to achieve our goal. We also assist our fellow countrymen at the front. We are already packing treats for our fellow countrymen who are currently on the Bahmut direction. The children want to convey their hearts and love to them. Therefore, the soldiers will receive Easter treats and souvenirs from our children," said Tetyana Yuriivna Borodavka, the deputy director for educational work.

Some of the most valuable items at the fair are spent cartridges brought from the front lines by volunteers. Students decorated them and turned them into patriotic souvenirs.

"The students of the lyceum have transformed deadly weapons into life. You can see that they are decorated with flowers and yellow-blue flags. In this way, we show that where the Russians bring death, we continue to bring life."

According to Tetyana Yuriivna, students at the lyceum are constantly helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, conducting charity events almost every month. Within these events, they collect aid for those without whom we would not have a chance to live in our hometown and study within these walls.

"We conduct charity events every month, constantly collecting and delivering aid to the front. Many of our teachers are volunteers, and our students are volunteers too. We try our best to help and bring victory closer. We would like to express our deep gratitude to our soldiers for making it safe for us to study because of them. That's why we are trying with all our might to be a reliable rear for our Heroes."

Oleg and Serhiy are volunteers. They brought spent cartridges from the front, which the schoolchildren have turned into patriotic souvenirs.

"We brought these 'trophies' from our last trip to the front. Our soldiers provided them, and the children of this school have painted them, and now they are selling them to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This Saturday, we are going to our soldiers again, those on the Bahmut direction, and we will bring them gifts, including those from the lyceum," Oleg said.

Serhiy adds that it is very pleasant for the soldiers to receive gifts from children.

"For them, these are very pleasant moments; they are happy to receive such gifts because the support of children is very valuable and important. We also brought rocket fragments that the Russians use to shell our positions. We want to show what kind of evil the Russians bring."

Ninth-graders Ksenia and Alina are selling near the school gate to involve as many people as possible and, therefore, collect more funds. They are selling homemade cakes and treats brought by their classmates.

Representatives of other classes are trading on a nearby booth. Among other things, they attract attention with wooden products with patriotic engravings, which were made by Anastasia's father.

"This has been my father's hobby for five years now. He made two machines himself. He works with wood and plastic. He has made many products."
