On the night of June 3, late in the evening, the enemy targeted a rocket strike between two residential two-story buildings in the Pidhorodne community of Dniprovskyi district. A 2-year-old girl was killed, and five more children were injured. In total, 22 people were affected, and the liquidation of the aftermath is ongoing on June 4.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk and the head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Serhiy Lysak visited the site. Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized that the primary issue now is how compensation for the destroyed housing will be provided. She added that she came today to support the people, local, and regional authorities.

"We see that houses that are beyond repair will need to be completely demolished. People have lost their homes. This is their pain. Of course, everything needed at the regional level is being done. But if there is a need for state assistance, we will provide it," said Iryna Vereshchuk.

She added that yesterday's tragedy once again reaffirms that the enemy must be held accountable for what they are doing.

"We talked to the people. Found out what kind of help is needed. We will not leave anyone in trouble. All services are working. Humanitarian missions and charitable organizations are being deployed. Local authorities are nearby, accepting applications from residents of the affected buildings," said Serhiy Lysak, the head of the region.

Almost all the neighbors remember the 2-year-old Liza who tragically passed away. They say she was a cheerful and lively child. She was at home with her mother when the enemy targeted the rocket on the courtyard of the building. Both of them ended up under the rubble. Liza's father rushed to the scene from work, and he was frantic. He immediately rushed to help the rescuers. First, they removed his wife from the rubble and transported her to the intensive care unit. Liza's lifeless body was lifted from the debris at about 3 in the morning.

A total of 85 rescuers and 18 units of equipment were involved in the aftermath recovery. They rescued 4 people from under the rubble, who were immediately taken to the hospital. Search and rescue operations were complicated by two fire outbreaks that needed to be extinguished.

Valentyna Ivanivna shared that five months ago, she buried her husband. Now, she is left without a home. She said that at the moment of the explosion, she was in the kitchen. A refrigerator fell on her, and she suffered severe bruises. "Damn those Russkies! I cried for help. Rescuers and neighbors helped me get out. There's nothing left now. My green chair is on the ruins. From clothing - my son-in-law's slippers, my daughter-in-law's pants, my daughter's sweater," sighed Valentyna Ivanivna.
