The "Koma" Youth Center in Kropyvnytskyi hosted the opening of the international youth project U-Point by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). U-Point is the regional representation of the U-Report project by UNICEF. U-Report is a platform that gathers the opinions of young people through anonymous online surveys on various aspects of social life to facilitate societal changes.
The event was attended by the Deputy Chief of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, Katerina Koltunova, the U-Report Ukraine team, representatives of UNICEF, the Center for Cultural and Youth Initiatives "Zadzerkallya," civil and youth organizations, active youth from the city and region.
"Now the voices of our youth will be heard louder! And the regional youth center 'Koma' will become the main 'office' for these voices," they noted at the event.
"The opening of U-Point is an important stage in the work of the youth center. Our work is based on taking into account the opinions of young people. U-Point is not just about researching the opinions of young people; it is also a space for creating opportunities and networking events," commented Victoria Bezsmertna, the U-Point coordinator.
U-Points aim to expand cooperation with youth in the regions, involve even more young audiences in the U-Report project through interesting surveys and projects. These are regional divisions that collect the opinions of young people in the region on various important issues and convey them to stakeholders. U-Points will help "keep a finger on the pulse" of young people's opinions in the regions of Ukraine, generate corresponding projects and opportunities needed by the youth of a particular region.
