The long-awaited decision of the European Commission to lift restrictions on Ukrainian agricultural exports, while implementing additional control measures, is considered constructive. Ukraine is grateful for this position," emphasized the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solsky, during an online address to the European Parliament's Agricultural Committee.
He noted that under the new conditions, Ukraine has worked on and presented an action plan for export control to the European Commission within 72 hours. According to Mykola Solsky, the proposal from the Ukrainian side should defuse the situation.
"According to our action plan, Ukraine will control and regulate exports as follows: we agree with the European Commission and importing countries on the necessary list and volume of agricultural products from four cultures. They, in turn, decide whether they are ready to accept these crops, when, and in what quantities. Only after this, we issue permits to our companies for the export of specific products. In other words, Ukraine controls its exports and coordinates them with the receiving countries," emphasized Mykola Solsky.
He also reported that today, the Government of Ukraine has approved a new procedure for the export of certain types of products to individual EU member states. It stipulates that four crops: corn, rapeseed, sunflower, and wheat, which are exported to five countries, should obtain licenses from the Ministry of Economy with the agreement of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
"We believe that this working scheme will satisfy all parties, including the three countries currently opposing Ukrainian agricultural exports, who will also join this plan. Because we all have one goal - victory in this terrible war. For this, there must be mutual understanding and support among us," underlined the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
