On May 5th, the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa Regional Military Administration organized the distribution of 1198 tablets and Chromebooks to territorial communities in the Odessa region for temporary use by children from internally displaced families.
The equipment was purchased and delivered with the support of the European Union and the Republic of Korea. This new supply from UNICEF is intended for children who have been forced to leave their homes due to armed conflicts and are studying through remote learning.
In total, UNICEF, with the financial support of the European Union and the Republic of Korea, has delivered 5,000 tablets for elementary school students, and another 5,000 laptops will be provided to middle and high school students. These electronic devices will be distributed to educational institutions throughout Ukraine. This assistance from UNICEF will help Ukrainian children continue their online education, as attending school has been unavailable to many of them for some time due to the security situation.
The provided aid is specifically aimed at children who have been internally displaced due to armed conflicts. Additionally, children with disabilities, children from low-income families, those without parental care, and other children lacking the necessary devices for online learning will also receive these devices.
