Kremenchuk may have a new twin town

Mayor of Kremenchuk Vitaliy Maletsky today met with the Mayor of the Spanish city of Donostia-San Sebastián, Mr. Eneko Goia, and representatives of the city council. This educational visit was conducted as part of the "Bridges of Trust" project, implemented by the Council of European Municipalities and Regions in collaboration with the Association of Ukrainian Cities with the support of the "ULEAD with Europe" program.

During the meeting with representatives of the local government in San Sebastián, Vitaliy Maletsky made a presentation about Kremenchuk. He showed a film depicting the destruction the city suffered from Russian missile strikes. During his presentation, they also discussed potential joint projects in areas such as the creation of heat hubs and improvements to the water purification system. Furthermore, he proposed collaboration in fields such as education, culture, sports, and healthcare.

The Spanish officials assured their support for Ukraine as a whole and specifically for Kremenchuk in its fight against Russian aggression. Vitaliy Maletsky stated, "We have reached an agreement to prepare a memorandum of cooperation between our cities. We hope that Kremenchuk and San Sebastián will soon become partner cities. We continue to establish friendly and partnership relations with European cities!"
