In Poltava region, they have trained future "change agents" who will implement a new food system in educational institutions. This information was provided by the press service of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

A two-day professional-practical training was held at the newly established culinary hub in Kremenchuk, based at the Center for Vocational Education No. 1. This establishment became part of the "School Chef’s Training Hubs Development" project as part of the First Lady Olena Zelenska's school food reform strategy.

"The first students of the hub were 20 masters of vocational training from educational institutions in Poltava, Hadyach, Reshetylivka, and Kremenchuk. They prepared 10 dishes. The dishes appeared ordinary but contained much less salt and sugar, more spices for flavor, and vegetables. They used both traditional and modern technological equipment," noted Dmytro Lunin, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

The theoretical part of the "change agents" course was completed in May. The culinary knowledge acquired will be passed on to future chefs studying in vocational schools and school cafeteria staff.

In the future, the culinary hub in Kremenchuk will serve as a platform for further training and requalification of chefs in the region. It will operate on a cascading method of preparing food service staff, where those who have undergone training can teach others.

This project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Embassy of Switzerland, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), trainers from the National Association of Public Food and Cult food.

Poltava region is among the three pilot regions for the implementation of this project.
