The delegation from the Poltava City Council's trip to Bulgaria has concluded. The Secretary of the Poltava City Council, Andriy Karpov, and the Mayor of the municipality, Daniel Panov, have signed a declaration of partnership between Veliko Tarnovo and Poltava.

The purpose of the agreement is to cooperate in the fields of culture, tourism, urban development, education, science, economics, and other relevant areas of public life.

Poltava had established a partnership agreement with Veliko Tarnovo even before Ukraine gained independence. In the past, there were various exchanges and exhibitions of folk art between the two cities.

The modern document also outlines cooperation in the field of cultural and historical heritage, cultural identity, and traditional crafts.

During their meeting, Andriy Karpov and Daniel Panov discussed organizing a recreational program in Veliko Tarnovo for children from families of fallen Poltava residents in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the mayor pledged to support the creation of such a program.

"We thank our twin city, Veliko Tarnovo, for our multifaceted cooperation and the opportunity to explore all possibilities for expanding the scale of this partnership," said Andriy Karpov.

As a token of the partnership, Poltava presented Veliko Tarnovo with a symbolic plaque from Velikotyrnivska Street in Poltava. In Veliko Tarnovo, there is also Poltavska Street, and there used to be a cinema named "Poltava."
