Today, the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Igor Taburets, met with the residents of the buildings that were affected by the Russian rocket strike on a multi-story building in Uman on April 28 to discuss current issues.
As of today, the removal of damaged panels in the building hit by the Russian rocket has been completed. The damaged entrance has been fenced off. Surveillance cameras have been installed in the multi-story building, connected to the police control room.
"We are in constant communication with the affected residents in collaboration with the local authorities," emphasized the head of the Regional Military Administration. "At their request, the city administration has provided a storage space for their belongings. We are also awaiting the results of the examination from the 'State Research Institute of Building Constructions.' This will give us a clear understanding of whether this building can be fully restored."
Meanwhile, the replacement of windows is ongoing in the intact second entrance and in neighboring buildings damaged by the explosion. So far, 675 windows out of 1500 have been installed, thanks to the support of the international charitable foundation Global Empowerment Mission.
"I am consistently grateful to our friends and partners, the Global Empowerment Mission company, for their support in this matter," noted Igor Taburets. "Thank you to everyone for your understanding and cooperation! Together, we will endure and overcome everything!"
GEM is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 as a global disaster response service. Its mission is to provide comprehensive support to the most vulnerable populations suffering from various disasters worldwide.
To recall, on April 28, an enemy cruise missile struck a residential building in Uman. As a result of the strike, 23 residents of the city were killed, including six children.
