In Poltava, the construction and arrangement of a modular housing complex for internally displaced persons (IDPs) are nearing completion. People will be able to move in there in June. The project to create a space for the comfortable and safe temporary accommodation of IDPs has been realized with funding from the regional budget within the comprehensive program to support IDPs with financial support from the UK Government in cooperation with the International Solidarity Foundation in Ukraine (Republic of Poland). The Polish partners provided the housing units. The location for the facility was chosen because it has the necessary infrastructure and the possibility to connect to utilities. There are also agreements with retail chains for the placement of stores nearby.

According to Dmytro Lunin, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, as of today, 397 individuals have applied for resettlement in the modular housing complex, mostly those living in places with a compact population of IDPs. Out of this number, 50 applications are from people with disabilities, and 40 are from children.

The modular housing complex in Poltava can accommodate a total of 528 individuals. However, the administration expects approximately 500 residents, as a four-person housing unit can house a family of three.

Dmytro Lunin emphasized that no one will be forcibly sent to the housing complex. Each person has the right to choose, and people have the option to visit the facility, and it is their decision if they want to live there.

The nearest school to the modular housing complex is located at a distance of 1.5 kilometers, and a kindergarten is 800 meters away. Both educational institutions have available spots.

Dmytro Lunin also mentioned that the housing complex offers everything necessary for comfortable and convenient living, including free internet, a security system, and surveillance cameras. Additionally, the residents of the complex will receive free meals, and they will not have to pay for utilities.

Approximately 40 million hryvnias from the regional budget were spent on the arrangement, utility connections, and other works in the complex.
