Youth from the Dnipropetrovsk region has won two silver and one bronze medals at the International Computer Projects Competition INFOMATRIX-2023, with over 200 participants from around the world. This was announced by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. The participants achieved two silver and one bronze medals.
17-year-old Anastasiia Kotiucha from Kryvyi Rih won the silver medal. She prepared a short film titled "What is a forest for you?" addressing the issue of deforestation. The film includes interviews with students, scientists, and volunteers. Anastasiia is a graduate of the regional branch of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
"I worked on the video for several months during frequent power outages. I'm pleasantly surprised that my project was selected as one of the best," said Anastasiia.
A silver medal was also awarded to 16-year-old researcher Roman Ovcharenko from Kamianske. He studied computational processes in computers and developed a program called "Logic Circuit Playground" that allows visual modeling of device operations.
"Roman worked on the program for six months. The project is very complex, but he excelled in it. He is talented and has dreamed of becoming an IT specialist since childhood. We have been working with him since the 6th grade," shared the computer science teacher, Olena Bondarenko.
A bronze medal was received by Pavlo Huk from Dnipro. He developed a bicycle bracelet.
"The device is designed as a wristwatch, but instead of hands, it has a lamp. When a person raises their hand, the lamp starts flashing. This way, the cyclist can indicate the direction of movement and turning to the driver, allowing for safe travel in the dark," said Svitlana Zilberman, Pavlo Huk's teacher."
