In Odessa, International Chess Day was celebrated. As part of the holiday's observance, 100 children of various ages played chess simultaneously. This event took place at the Chernomorets Stadium and was dedicated to World Chess Day, which is observed on July 20.

"Thanks to our Armed Forces, we have the opportunity to create such a sports holiday for our children. I wish young chess players success in sports, achievements, and victories," said Gennadiy Trukhanov, the Mayor of Odessa.

Olympic champion and Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, Natalia Zhukova, conducted a master class for the young participants. According to the renowned chess player, this is not the first sports event supported by the Odessa City Council.

"The number of children participating shows that they are interested in this. Therefore, it is very important to support this enthusiasm in young athletes," noted Natalia Zhukova.

All the young athletes who participated in the event received certificates and awards.
