Seven-year-old Alexandra Pascal lost her leg as a result of a Russian strike on the town of Zatoka in May 2022. She was rescued from the rubble with severe injuries, and doctors had to amputate her leg. For a while, the family was under the care of the Odessa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, a department of the Department of Health of the Odessa Regional State Administration, which enabled them to travel to Europe for prosthetics and rehabilitation. A response was received from the Austrian company "VAMED," which has been successfully working in all areas of healthcare worldwide for many years. Last summer, Alexandra and her mother went to Austria for rehabilitation, where the child received her first prosthetic and began learning to walk again.
Alexandra Pascal participated in her first artistic gymnastics competition with her prosthetic leg after nearly a year. She received an individual bionic prosthesis. The video of her performance was shared by the Authorized Representative of the President of Ukraine for Children's Rights, Daria Gerasimchuk.
Sasha won! To tears... Just received a message from Masha, Sasha Pascal's mom: "Today was our first competition!" I looked and couldn't believe how quickly she rehabilitated! And most importantly, what strong motivation a 7-year-old girl must have to react so quickly and return to artistic gymnastics with a prosthetic leg! Remember this name! This is the name of a future champion! And no Russians with their rockets, injuries, and amputations will break us! Alexandra Pascal, who lost her leg from a Russian rocket attack on Odessa last year, participated in her first competition today. Remember this name! This is the name of a future champion! And no Russians with their rockets, injuries, and amputations will break us!
