The four hundred fifty-second day of Russia's large-scale armed aggression against our country continues. Let's briefly summarize the day that has passed.
During the past day, the enemy launched 7 missiles and 70 air strikes, carried out 48 rocket attacks from multiple rocket launch systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
On May 18, the Poltava community hosted the final stage of a tournament among children and youth teams dedicated to the memory of the Hero of Ukraine, Andriy Konoplyov. This was reported by the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.
The first tournament in honor of Hero of Ukraine Andriy Konoplyov was held among adult teams in 2021. The next event is planned to be organized in Pyriatyn, where the family of the warrior lives. Meanwhile, Andriy Konoplyov's wife, Galina Konoplyova, and their 9-year-old son, Oleksiy, watched the final matches in Poltava. As a token of respect, Oleksiy was given the honor of the first symbolic hit to the ball in the final match for first place between the Poltava and Myrhorod teams.
In Dnipro, a run in embroidered shirts, called the "Pattern of Victory," took place in the Tunnel Shaft. The event was dedicated to Embroidery Day. Approximately 200 residents of Dnipro participated in the competition, including men, women, and children. Each ran different distances: 10 and 4 kilometers for men, 8 and 2 kilometers for women, and 200 and 400 meters for children, as reported by Dnipro City Council.
The people of Odessa continue to support our troops by preparing various dishes and snacks for them. The residents of Odessa want to show their appreciation to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their heroic work and defense, not only for the peaceful port city but for the entire country, at any time of the day and any season. Employees of the Territorial Center for the Provision of Social Services of the Kyiv district and teachers of Odessa Secondary School No. 27 prepared over four hundred pizzas for the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Pizzas, packed in boxes with gratitude to the soldiers for their bravery, were handed over to the units of the region's air defense.
The Territorial Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control of the Poltava Regional Council, the Department of Youth Policy and Family of the Department of Culture, Youth, and Family of the Poltava City Council, and the NGO "Light of Hope" held an informational and awareness-raising campaign at the "Equator" shopping center. The event was dedicated to World AIDS Memorial Day and the European HIV and Hepatitis Testing Week.
On May 23, at 10:00 AM, at Soborna Square in Poltava, a farewell ceremony will be held for Julian Matviychuk, a patriot, nationalist, ATO veteran, member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a deputy of the Poltava City Council from the "Svoboda" political party who was killed in action.
