This time, residents of the Amur-Nyzhnedniprovske district of Dnipro gathered for a cleanup event to participate in the city-wide initiatives #CleanDnipro and #Dnipro_in_bloom, focusing on tidying up a square on Manuilivsky Avenue.
"We continue to organize cleanup events in our district as part of the city-wide initiatives #CleanDnipro and #Dnipro_in_bloom. This time, residents also came together for another clean-up effort. It's pleasant to note that internally displaced families living here also joined the cleanup. Local residents often spend time in this square, especially with their children. So, everyone worked together to tidy it up," said Ruslan Vyshnevetsky, the head of the Amur-Nyzhnedniprovske district administration.
Additionally, Anatoliy Bondar, the head of the council of veterans in the Amur-Nyzhnedniprovske district, mentioned, "There are several monuments in this square, including those dedicated to the underground resistance fighters who defended the district here in 1941, as well as the Afghan War veterans. That's why we also participated in cleaning the areas around these memorial sites in the square. Overall, the more people join these cleanup events, the more disciplined we all become in not littering. It's excellent that the city authorities and district administration pay attention to organizing such cleanup events to keep our parks, squares, and adjacent areas clean."
It's worth noting that representatives of one of the IT companies planted 35 Crimean pine trees on Monastyrsky Island in Dnipro as part of the #Dnipro_in_bloom campaign, and an increasing number of Dnipro residents are participating in these city-wide initiatives, often as groups or teams.
