Uninterrupted operation in the event of a blackout: checking the autonomous power supplies at Dniprovodokanal

All main divisions of the Dnipro Municipal Enterprise "Dniprovodokanal" are to be equipped with autonomous power sources. This instruction was given by the Mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, to the leadership of the respective municipal enterprise. This was reported by the Dnipro City Council.

To inspect the implementation of the instruction, the Director of "Dniprovodokanal," Yuriy Hamazynskyi, visited one of the water pumping stations in Dnipro.

"A diesel generator with a capacity of 66 kW is installed at the station. It will fully supply the station with energy in case of a blackout or power interruption. The water station is ready for any emergency situations, it has a chlorine supply, fuel reserves for the generator, and backup power. I am satisfied with the results of the inspection," said the director of "Dniprovodokanal," Yuriy Hamazynskyi.

Additionally, the city duty officer inspected the progress of work to replace the emergency valve on the water main. According to Yuriy Hamazynskyi, the malfunction of the valve was noticed during other emergency restoration works, which led to the need to shut off the water supply to a larger number of subscribers than planned. However, he also noted that the comfort of the city's residents is a priority for them, and they will do everything to minimize inconvenience for fewer residents in case of emergencies.

"At the moment, the municipal workers are carrying out work on flushing and cleaning the chamber where the pipeline passes. The covering plate on the distant chamber will also be replaced. In total, 1 emergency crew, 7 employees, and 2 pieces of specialized equipment are involved in the repair," said the representative of "Dniprovodokanal," Yan Maydan.
