Two "shaheds" were shot down over Cherkasy this night

On the night of August 19, during an air alert over Cherkasy region, the air defense forces successfully shot down two enemy drones. This was reported by the head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Igor Taburets.

"For over three hours overnight, the region was under an air alert due to the sound of 'shakhid' drones. Our defense forces successfully engaged and destroyed two aerial targets. There were no casualties or damages," the statement reads.

According to the Command of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, this time the enemy attacked Ukraine from the northern direction. The Air Force managed to destroy a total of 15 enemy drones, Taburets added.

Recalling that the night into Saturday, August 19, in Dnipropetrovsk region passed without enemy shelling. In the morning, aggressor forces shelled the community in Manganese on Nikopol region. No casualties have been reported. All information is being clarified.

Over the past day, the enemy conducted 3 missile and 41 aviation strikes, with 74 rocket artillery shelling on the positions of our forces and populated areas. Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage. The possibility of missile and aviation strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
