On the eve of Independence Day in Poltava region mass events were banned due to possible intensification of hostile shelling Ukraine news 21 Aug 2023 at 14:17

Since August 21, mass events have been prohibited in Poltava region. Such a decision was made during the regular meeting of the Regional Defense Council. The reason for this decision is the possible intensification of enemy shelling. This information was reported by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin. The date for lifting the restriction has not been announced yet and will be determined at the next meeting of the Defense Council.

Once again, I emphasize, never neglect your safety. In case of an air raid alert, proceed to the nearest shelter! Let's keep a cool head and trust the Armed Forces of Ukraine! - wrote Dmytro Lunin.

As a reminder, earlier in Vinnytsia region, the conduct of processions, religious demonstrations, and mass public religious events outside of cult buildings were banned. The head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration issued an order that prohibits these activities in July through September of this year on the territory of the region. This ban is in accordance with Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Regime of Martial Law" and takes into account the results of the analysis of the operational situation in the field of national security and defense in the state and region, the existence of a full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the danger of committing acts of terrorism and sabotage in Vinnytsia region, as well as possible provocations and acts of vandalism aimed at inciting national and interfaith enmity and with the aim of maintaining security and peace in the region, the lives, and health of citizens.
