A tactical medicine training for Border Guards was conducted at the Odessa Regional Public Health Center. Participants spent three days learning how to provide first aid and emergency care, following specified algorithms. This information was reported on the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine's Telegram channel.
Border guards participating in the training practiced applying tourniquets and learned ways to quickly and correctly stop bleeding using readily available resources. They were also trained in intubation, as precision is crucial in such situations. Much time was dedicated to airway management techniques, the installation of various types of supraglottic airways, and more.
This training is essential for border guards as unforeseen situations can arise during patrols at sea, and every second is crucial when at a considerable distance from the shore. Providing timely and accurate first aid can save lives and preserve health in these situations.
Previously, Sergiy Prytula shared details about the readiness of civilians. The initiative, which started in Poltava, is now active in 17 regions. Over the course of a year, more than 20,000 Ukrainians have undergone training and gained knowledge in military affairs through the Civilian Readiness Center. The project provides free training for locals and military reserve members, teaching them how not to panic in extreme and dangerous situations and helping them adapt quickly for the defense of Ukraine in armed formations.
