In Cherkasy region, law enforcement officers exposed a group of individuals who, in exchange for a bribe, helped individuals obtain deferments from military service. The group included an employee of the district territorial recruitment and social support center (military enlistment office), a hospital employee, and a local resident. These individuals demanded $3,000 in exchange for their services, issuing citizens with fake certificates that allowed them to postpone their conscription into military service. This information was reported on the Facebook page of the National Police of Ukraine.

On August 16, law enforcement officers conducted the detention of one of the suspects, a man who worked in a medical institution. He was receiving a portion of the bribe, amounting to $1,000 USD. Additionally, earlier, law enforcement officers documented the transfer of another $2,000 USD to the suspect.

The police conducted searches at the suspects' residences, as well as in the premises of the district military enlistment office and the suspects' vehicles. During the searches, they found and seized funds in both national and foreign currency, with a total amount exceeding 2.5 million hryvnias. Furthermore, the officers obtained documents and draft records from the criminals.

The detained suspect was informed of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 5 of Article 27 and Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which deals with obtaining unlawful benefits by a public official combined with extortion of unlawful benefits. The court has already ordered him to be held in custody. On August 18, two other suspects in the case were also informed of the suspicion.

Earlier, we reported on a case in Kirovohrad region where an employee of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) assisted individuals in fraudulently obtaining disability status to avoid mobilization.
