A honey factory is being built in Poltava Oblast

The "Druzhba" Private Agricultural Enterprise in Semenivka, Poltava Region, is breeding the Ukrainian steppe breed of bees. The company has plans to launch a honey plant, which is currently under construction.

Since 2017, the enterprise has been focusing on industrial beekeeping. It houses the largest breeding apiary for queen bees, as reported on the "Agri Together" website.

"In the future, the honey plant plans to carry out homogenization, which is the mixing of honey to prevent the crystallization process (preparation for European standards). However, the equipment for this purpose has not yet been installed," said Konstantin Yemelyanov, the executive director of the trading house "Medi Mezhyrichchia."

In 2018, the "Druzhba" apiary was the largest in Ukraine, with a total of 8,000 bee families, including 500 breeding bee families, dedicated to breeding these insects and preserving their gene pool.

In 2018-2019, the enterprise developed a honey conveyor system, planting honey-producing plants, so the bees were constantly active throughout the summer, collecting honey and nectar. They extract honey en masse once per season, but may also extract a small quantity later.

The "Druzhba" Private Agricultural Enterprise in Semenivka is actively involved in the breeding of the Ukrainian steppe bee breed and has plans to establish a honey processing plant, which is currently under development.
