Preliminary information from the investigation suggests that a collision between a VAZ car and a DAF truck resulted in the deaths of twelve people, including six children, all of whom were in the car's cabin. Investigators from the regional police department, officers from the Khmilnyk district police department, criminal investigators, and rescuers are currently at the scene.
To extricate the victims from the severely damaged vehicle, the involvement of State Emergency Service personnel was necessary. As of 01:30 on August 23rd, emergency responders, using specialized equipment, recovered the bodies of the twelve deceased individuals.
It's worth noting that in Vinnytsia Oblast, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 52-year-old employee of a district territorial center for conscription and social support. The commander of one of the center's units was found to have offered partially completed draft notices to eligible individuals, with the intention of presenting them to center representatives as genuine. This scheme allowed conscripts to evade mobilization.
