Hornets killed a man in Poltava Oblast

In the village of Brateshky in the Reshetylivska community of the Poltava district, a tragic incident occurred - a man was bitten by hornets. The man tragically died as a result of the bites.

On August 25, 2023, at around 10:30 AM, the emergency services received information about the death of a 57-year-old man near the village of Brateshky in the Reshetylivska community of the Poltava district.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was performing work to clear the railway tracks of grass and bushes when he accidentally disturbed a hornets' nest.

The man became unwell due to numerous hornet stings, and unfortunately, the medics were unable to save him. To determine the exact cause of death, the body of the deceased has been sent for a forensic examination.

Law enforcement authorities are investigating all the circumstances of the tragic incident, and the legal qualification of the case is being determined.

At the scene, specialists from the ambulance service, the patrol police, and an investigative-operational group were involved. Further details of the incident are being investigated.

Also, the "Druzhba" Private Beekeeping Farm in Semenivka, Poltava Oblast, is breeding the Ukrainian steppe breed of bees. The company plans to launch a honey processing plant, which is currently being set up.
