In Pyriatyn, Poltava Oblast, a multimedia screen has been installed in memory of the Ukrainian defenders from the community who lost their lives during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The screen operates in a slideshow mode, displaying photographs of soldiers who gave their lives in the fight for Ukraine's independence.
The screen is installed on the central square of Pyriatyn. It showcases photographs and information about the soldiers who died in the war. The cost of the multimedia screen and installation work amounted to 750,000 hryvnias.
According to the community's website, a monument is planned to replace the screen in the future.
On August 19, as part of the "City Workshop," residents of Poltava "had coffee" together with the secretary of the city council, Katerina Yamshchykova, and raised questions that concern them. One of the most pressing topics discussed by the residents was the honoring of heroes and defenders, rehabilitation and treatment of the wounded, housing for military personnel, and transportation to the cemetery in the village of Zaturyn, as there is currently no memorial place for the fallen soldiers in Poltava.
Additionally, in Vinnytsia, in memory of those killed in the enemy's rocket attack on July 14, 2022, 29 sakura trees were planted on Victory Square. This number corresponds to the count of people killed by Russia in the city center of Vinnytsia on July 14, 2022. The trees were planted by the relatives of the victims to commemorate those they lost due to the cynical Russian strike.
