Due to an attack by saboteurs from the Russian Federation on the ports of the Danube in Izmail, located in the Odessa region, 13,000 tons of grain were destroyed. This information was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure, Alexander Kubrakov.

Several private grain terminals and warehouses, as well as cargo infrastructure, were damaged in the attack. The agricultural products were intended for Egypt and Romania.

"Russia systematically targets grain storage facilities and warehouses to disrupt agro-exports," noted Alexander Kubrakov.

As a result of this strike, the export capacity of the Izmail port was reduced by 15%. Prior to this, the port of Reni had been targeted, resulting in the destruction of 35,000 tons of grain. This marks the eighth consecutive attack on port infrastructure since Russia withdrew from the grain trade agreement. In total, over the course of a month, attacks on ports have destroyed 270,000 tons of grain.

"The world must understand that attacks on grain infrastructure are attacks on countries in Africa and Asia that are already facing food shortages. These are attacks on global food markets, which have already reacted with increased wheat prices due to the shortage of Ukrainian food after the suspension of the Grain Initiative and attacks on Danube ports," summarized Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Kubrakov.

It's worth noting that on the night of August 23rd, the Russian army carried out a terrorist attack in the Odessa region.
