Today, on June 5th, in Myrgorod, awards were presented to the families of fallen soldiers. This information was reported by the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.
The Chief of the Morale and Psychological Support Group of the Myrgorod District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, Captain Bogdan Zubchenko, together with Deputy Mayor of Myrgorod, Sergiy Shvaiko, met with the closest relatives and, in a moment of silence, honored the memory of courageous defenders, residents of the village of Harkushynzi in the Myrgorod municipal territorial community. They expressed their gratitude to the parents for raising worthy patriots and defenders and offered their condolences to the parents, wives, and children.
By the Presidential Decree of Ukraine No. 45/2023, Senior Soldier Oleksiy Pedorych and Soldier Ivan Romanenko were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd class. Oleksiy Pedorych and Ivan Romanenko defended their country from the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. They served together and lost their lives on the same day, October 2, 2022, as a result of tank shelling of their unit's positions near the village of Vodyane in the Donetsk region.
