In the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, a meeting was held to discuss assistance to internally displaced persons. This included topics such as free legal consultations, financial support, and the provision of non-food items. The Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine actively supports the resettled population in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The meeting focused on developing a crucial program and coordinating actions between these organizations.
- Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, nearly 400,000 displaced persons have found refuge in Dnipropetrovsk, including 89,000 children. Most of them were accommodated in Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih. It's crucial to support these people. This is one of the priorities of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine. Today, we met for the first time to coordinate our efforts. We will work together on key directions, - explained Iryna Hrytsai, Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
She also added that they are currently developing a program to support internally displaced persons in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
- Our main area of activity is to support people who fled from the war. We opened an office in Dnipro nearly a year ago. Today, we've established cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, - noted Anna Handros, Head of the Regional Office of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine in her speech.
Thanks to the support from the Danish Refugee Council, displaced persons can already receive free legal consultations, financial assistance, and non-food aid (bedding, hygiene items, clothing).
Earlier, we reported that a European Association for Local Democracy (ALDA) office will be opened in Vinnytsia. ALDA unites more than 350 members from over 40 countries worldwide, operates in most European Union countries and neighboring countries. Vinnytsia City Council's application for ALDA membership will be considered in June at a meeting of the ALDA Governing Board.
