Poltava schoolchildren returned with medals from the Ukrainian Summer Gymnasium in track and field athletics

In the city of Lviv, the 5th Summer Gymnasiade of Ukraine in athletics took place. A total of 320 students from 18 regions of Ukraine competed for medals at these championships. Representatives from Poltava region had a successful performance at the Gymnasiade, returning home with medals of various types. This achievement was reported by the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

The gold medalists from the competition were:

- Yulia Velyka (Grebinkivska General Education School No. 4) in long jump.
- Yaroslav Lystopad (Takhtaulyvska Comprehensive School named after Samiylo Velychko) in discus throw.
- Valeriya Lapa (Kremenchuk Sports Lyceum named after I. M. Piddubny) in triple jump.

Silver medals were won by:

- Serhiy Shmyhol (Takhtaulyvska Comprehensive School named after Samiylo Velychko) in javelin throw.
- Anastasiya Reznikova (Kremenchuk Sports Lyceum named after I. M. Piddubny) in the 100m hurdles.
- Yulia Velyka (Grebinkivska General Education School No. 4), Anastasiya Reznikova, Valeriya Lapa (Kremenchuk Sports Lyceum named after I. M. Piddubny), and Liliya Luhova (Poltava General Education School No. 38) in the relay.

Bronze medals were brought home by:

- Vadim Lukyanenko (Piryatyn Lyceum) in the 2000m steeplechase.
- Yaroslav Lystopad (Takhtaulyvska Comprehensive School named after Samiylo Velychko) in shot put.
- Anastasiya Reznikova (Kremenchuk Sports Lyceum named after I. M. Piddubny) in long jump.
- Valeriya Lapa (Kremenchuk Sports Lyceum named after I. M. Piddubny) in the 100m hurdles.

These young athletes from Poltava region showcased their talent and dedication at the V Summer Gymnasiade of Ukraine in athletics, bringing home a collection of medals in various disciplines. Their achievements highlight the region's strong sporting potential and the promising future of these young athletes.

Earlier, we reported on a Vinnytsia athlete who set three Ukrainian records in weightlifting at the national championship, demonstrating outstanding athletic achievements in the field of sports. In addition, a special day of hippotherapy and psychological relief was organized for children who are internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Vinnytsia, providing support and care for 40 IDP children from various regions of Ukraine.
