Man destroys grave of fallen soldier in Odesa region

Law enforcement agencies are investigating the desecration of the grave of a Ukrainian serviceman in Odessa region. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in Poltava region.

The incident occurred on April 30 in the village of Ageyivka in the Lyubashivska territorial community. At the soldier's grave, wreaths were found scattered, his torn photograph, and a damaged Ukrainian national flag.

Police in Odessa region have entered information about the desecration of the grave of a person who defended the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, as stipulated by Part 2 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Investigators have determined that a 44-year-old local resident, who is under the care of a psychiatrist, is involved in the commission of the crime. As part of the pre-trial investigation, police investigators have ordered a series of expert examinations, including a forensic psychiatric examination to determine the individual's sanity.
