Vasyl Mykitas, a fighter from the Poltava region who served in defense of Ukrainian territories against Russian forces, has died in combat. This was reported by Roman Istomin, the spokesperson for the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.

Vasyl Mykitas was 40 years old, and he died during combat operations in the vicinity of the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region. He held the rank of a soldier and served as part of an anti-tank unit.

Vasyl passed away on May 6. He was bid farewell to on May 12 in the city of Kremenchuk.

He is survived by his mother and other close relatives.
