Serhiy Kryshtal from Poltava region was killed in Donetsk region

21-year-old Serhiy Kryshtal, who gave his life defending Ukraine against the Russian aggressors, hailed from the city of Khorol. This information was provided by the Khorol Territorial Community.

Serhiy Kryshtal served as a soldier, specializing as a grenadier in the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky.

On May 17, the serviceman tragically lost his life due to mortar and artillery shelling in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast.

He leaves behind his parents and a younger brother. The details of his farewell service are currently being clarified.

This news follows the recent opening of a memorial plaque in honor of another fallen hero, Ilya Negar, in the village of Bolhan Studenianska in Vinnytsia Oblast. Ilya Negar served as a senior navigator in the aviation squadron of the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after Ivan Franko. He carried out 14 combat sorties as part of his crew, destroying numerous military vehicles and hundreds of Russian military personnel. On May 19, 2022, Major Ilya Negar, together with a lieutenant colonel on a Su-24M aircraft, made their final flight near the city of Soledar in Donetsk Oblast. Ilya Negar was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd degree.
