Ukrainian gymnast Ilya Kovtun had a successful start at the World Challenge Cup in Croatia. On the first day of the finals in Osijek, the 19-year-old athlete from Cherkasy won on his signature apparatus, the parallel bars, with a score of 15.133 points. He also secured a bronze medal in the pommel horse exercises, scoring 14.500. This information was shared on the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine's Facebook page.

Ilya Kovtun and his coach Irina Nadyuk were congratulated on their successful performance, and the ministry encouraged support for Ukrainian gymnasts in the upcoming finals.

In Vinnytsia, Olympic Day was celebrated in the central city park, dedicated to the opening of the third European Games taking place in Poland. Local sports school students performed for the audience, and there were running races and competitions in various sports for the residents. In Kirovohrad, two athletes secured gold medals for the Ukrainian national team in an international ranking wrestling tournament that took place in Italy.

Mariana Akhrarova and Maxim Nalyvayko from Kirovohrad will represent Ukraine at the upcoming Special Olympics' summer games in Berlin, which will be held from June 12 to 25.
