On Thursday, June 8th, Russian occupiers launched a missile strike on the city of Uman in Cherkasy region. Russian forces fired two "Kalibr" missiles, hitting civilian objects - a car wash and an empty workshop at one of the agricultural enterprises. The infrastructure was destroyed, and there are casualties among the civilian population as a result of these missile strikes. This was reported by the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Igor Taburets, on his Facebook page.
The missile strike on the car wash occurred on a busy street with several shops. Fortunately, there were no employees present at the time as the establishments had closed. However, debris and the explosive shockwave caused damage to nearby buildings.
As a result of the missile strike, ten residents sought medical assistance. Two of them remain in a medical facility. One woman was saved thanks to a passing military serviceman who had a first-aid kit. He provided her with timely pre-medical care and applied a tourniquet. The woman is currently in critical condition and receiving medical treatment. Another woman's condition is of moderate severity, and she is also receiving the necessary medical care.
Igor Taburets expressed his gratitude to the rescuers, medical personnel, and law enforcement officers for their work and urged everyone to stay strong and support each other.
It's important to note that over Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a drone and two missiles, and their debris caused damage to private homes, a car, and a gas pipeline during the impact.
