On the night of June 14, the enemy launched an attack on Odesa using four "Kalibr" missiles. Tragically, this attack resulted in three fatalities, and 13 people were injured. According to the Operational Command "South," the enemy directed four "Kalibr" missiles at Odesa from a ship in the Black Sea. Three of them were successfully intercepted by air defense forces.
This aerial attack caused damage to a business center, an educational institution, a residential complex, dining establishments, and shops in the city center. One of the Russian missiles was aimed at a food storage facility of a local supermarket chain. Three employees of the warehouse lost their lives, and seven others were injured. Rescue operations are ongoing, and there may be individuals trapped beneath the rubble. Approximately 1,000 square meters were destroyed, with 400 square meters consumed by the fire, which has since been extinguished.
Due to the investigation and rescue operations, a section of Shevchenko Avenue, from Gagarin Avenue to Pirogovska Street, has been temporarily closed to traffic.
Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, condemned the attack, expressing his condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. This is the second attack on Odesa within a week. During the night attack from June 9 to June 10, 2023, the enemy targeted the city with eight "Shahed-131/136" kamikaze drones, all of which were destroyed. Unfortunately, during the aerial battle, debris from one of the drones struck a residential building, causing a fire and resulting in the loss of three lives.
