Crisis counselors are being trained in Kirovohrad Oblast to help children and their families in stressful situations

In Kirovohrad Oblast, with the support of the UNICEF Children's Fund, the preparation of the fifth group of crisis counselors is underway. These counselors will provide psychosocial support to children and their families in stressful situations. This information was reported by the Kirovohrad Oblast State Administration.

During six training sessions, 17 participants are learning techniques for helping people recover from acute stress. The group of counselors includes not only professional psychologists but also individuals who represent civil society organizations that provide assistance to those affected by the Russian occupation in Ukraine, including internally displaced persons, children of military personnel, and more. Andrii Fomenko, a certified trainer, shares essential knowledge and skills. He discusses the crises and stresses that individuals experience during extraordinary events, the provision of psychological support, the principles of psychological hygiene, and much more.

These training sessions are conducted as part of the project "Rapid Response in Kirovohrad Oblast to Meet the Needs of Children and their Caregivers, including internally displaced persons affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine."

It's worth mentioning that in Odessa, authorities have promised to provide housing or monetary compensation to those affected by a nighttime attack by Russian occupiers.

The decision will be made after clearing the rubble and conducting all necessary inspections. If it's impossible to restore damaged housing, people will be offered new apartments or compensation for their lost homes.
