In the city of Kropyvnytskyi on June 17, they bid farewell to Serhiy Hrytsenko, a lieutenant in the medical service. The 36-year-old military officer defended Ukraine as part of the 37th Separate Marine Brigade. He lost his life in the vicinity of Velyka Novosilka, which is located in the Volnovakha District in Donetsk Oblast. Serhiy Hrytsenko was remembered and honored at the Alley of Honor at the Far Eastern Cemetery. This information was provided by the Kropyvnytskyi City Council.

In April of this year, there was a post about Serhiy Hrytsenko on the 37th Separate Marine Brigade's page, which mentioned that he had dreamed of a medical career since childhood. In civilian life, he practiced as a pediatric traumatologist. However, he had to leave his young patients and join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. When asked why he chose to go to war, he replied, "What will I tell my children when they ask where you were, dad, when the war was happening?"

During the farewell to the hero, his classmate Victoria Pysmenna shared that Serhiy Hrytsenko is survived by his wife and two-year-old twins.

A memorial service for the fallen soldier was conducted by Father Volodymyr, a chaplain of the Kropyvnytskyi Eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

It's worth noting that earlier, Kropyvnytskyi also bid farewell to footballer Mykola Zhydkov, who had a passion for football from childhood and played professionally in Poland for the local club "Wengrzanka." However, when the enemy arrived in his homeland, he returned to Ukraine and took up arms. Mykola Zhydkov lost his life on June 1 in the area near Novodonetske in Donetsk Oblast.
