On June 18, in Poltava, a physical fitness and health event titled "Active Parks - Poltava Run" was held. 300 participants completed a 5-kilometer course. Some ran, while others walked the distance using Nordic walking techniques. The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Center for Physical Health of the Population "Sport for All," and the Regional Center "Sport for All."
The oldest participant in this sporting event was 78 years old, while the youngest was only 5. Each of the participants who completed the 5-kilometer course received a finisher's medal. Dmytro Lunin, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, noted that efforts are underway in the region to establish Poltava as a significant sports center in Ukraine.
Previously, in the city of Dnipro, the traditional run in embroidered shirts, called "Victory Pattern," was held in the Tunnel Balka. Around 200 residents of Dnipro, including men, women, and children, participated. The men completed courses of 10 and 4 kilometers, women ran 8 and 2 kilometers, and children had 400 and 200-meter courses. All participants received gifts, and the winners were awarded with shell casings decorated with Petrykivka painting, a traditional Ukrainian art style.
