Vinnytsia region is among the top five leaders in terms of the number of medical workers ready to go to help their colleagues in the flood-affected areas of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, 630 medical professionals from various regions are ready to volunteer to assist those affected by the flooding. Among them, 14 specialists have already left to help their colleagues in Mykolaiv and Kherson. This week, an additional 26 nurses and doctors from various regions of the country will join them. The schedule of departures has been approved until September 3.
To join the volunteer medical teams, one needs to contact the head of their hospital. The hospital head will provide a list of those willing to go on assignments to Mykolaiv or Kherson. You can also call the Ministry of Health's hotline directly at 0-800-60-20-19 to submit your application.
The medical professionals needed include anesthesiologists, therapists, pediatric traumatologists, ophthalmologists, neuropathologists, phthisiatrists, maxillofacial surgeons, neurosurgeons, hematologists, radiologists, oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, radiation therapy doctors, urgent care doctors, nurses, and others.
Additionally, thanks to the support from the World Health Organization Ukraine (WHO Ukraine), medical workers will receive compensation for expenses related to their assignments.
