In the past month, over two hundred professionals from various fields, including medical personnel, drivers, utility workers, plumbers, and architects from the Poltava region, have gone to Kherson to help the region recover from the consequences of the Russian occupiers' explosion at the Kakhovska HES. This information was shared during a briefing by Oleksiy Bruslyk, Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration.

Poltava region provided assistance to the areas affiliated with it, namely Kherson and Chornobaivtsi. The coordination of these efforts was directly managed by the Kherson Regional State Administration.

The first humanitarian aid shipment from Poltava to Kherson was sent on June 8th. Over the course of a month and a half, a total of 440 tons of drinking water, 12 tons of gasoline, 3 tons of diesel fuel, and 600 units of rescue equipment were delivered from Poltava. Throughout this period, Poltava sent 22 pieces of equipment, including bulldozers, tractors, dump trucks, loaders, emergency vehicles from the water supply and sewerage service, a cremator-utilizer for biological waste, a canal flushing vehicle, a water carrier, and an aerial work platform for electrical network repairs.

Currently, 14 units of specialized machinery from Poltava continue to work on Kherson territory, actively involved in operations in Kherson and Chornobaivtsi. There is still plenty of work to be done in terms of cleaning apartments and yards from mud and debris brought by the flooding. Additionally, architects from the Poltava region are assisting in documenting the consequences of the Russian terrorist act, conducting building inspections, and preparing corresponding reports. Based on their assessments, the state will provide compensation to property owners.

It is worth noting that sappers from Cherkasy were previously dispatched to clear liberated territories in Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
