Cherkasy sappers will be demining the liberated territories in Kherson and Kharkiv regions

Sappers from Cherkasy will be tasked with demining the liberated territories in Kherson and Kharkiv regions. This was announced by Igor Taburets, the head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

"The sappers will replace their colleagues in the positions. They will be clearing Ukrainian land from explosive objects," said the regional leader. "We are waiting for our rescuers to return home with successfully completed tasks. Healing Ukrainian lands after de-occupation, meter by meter, step by step – it is our common duty."

Cherkasy not only provides assistance in demining the liberated territories but also sends humanitarian aid regularly to Kherson region. Cherkasy workers participate in the reconstruction of freed Kherson villages as part of the national project "Shoulder-to-Shoulder." Earlier, it was reported that Cherkasy was involved in the reconstruction of three settlements in Kherson region – Ivanivka, Novopetrivka, and Mykolaivka. Over 200 houses need restoration in Ivanivka, Vysokopilska community.

As a reminder, the "Shoulder-to-Shoulder" project, initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, involves fifteen rear regions of Ukraine. They will assist in the restoration of 26 settlements in the Kherson region that were liberated after the occupation.
