Over a thousand elderly and disabled people were evacuated from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to western regions of Ukraine, with the majority going to Zakarpattia. The evacuation program has been in operation for eleven months, benefiting over 500 residents of the region who are either elderly or have disabilities and are living in areas regularly shelled by the enemy. These individuals are transported to locations in western Ukraine, where they receive medical care, free accommodation, and three meals a day. In July, 39 people from Nikopol Raion moved to Zakarpattia Oblast as part of this program. Most of the evacuees have chosen Zakarpattia, while some have gone to Zhytomyr and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblasts.
The evacuation for Dnipropetrovsk Oblast residents is provided free of charge, and those interested can simply contact their local council (rural, settlement, or city council).
Earlier, we reported that evacuation buses arrived in Odesa from Kherson. Around 200 Kherson residents arrived in Odesa on these evacuation buses. People were provided accommodation either in temporary locations for internally displaced persons or in hotels that offered free lodging.
On June 6 at 02:50, Russian forces blew up the structures of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station (GES) in Kherson Oblast. As a result, about 80 populated areas, including Kherson, are threatened with flooding. Authorities and volunteers initiated the evacuation of the population from these dangerous areas.
