In Odesa, ophthalmologist forged certificates for evaders for USD 5 thousand

In Odessa, an ophthalmologist was caught involved in corruption, offering to forge a health examination report for a conscript for $5,000 USD, providing a diagnosis that would grant him a military service deferment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The suspect was apprehended in her office after receiving the money from the draft evader in exchange for her assistance. Currently, the medical worker has been charged under Part 3 of Article 354 (Bribery of an Employee of an Enterprise, Institution, or Organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the issue of applying preventive measures is being addressed.

Additionally, it was reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) arrested a Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) employee who was planning a missile attack on logistics facilities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The Russian informant was in direct communication with a Russian military officer stationed in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Oblast. Under the instruction of the Russian handler, the enemy agent gathered intelligence on the locations of security and defense forces based in the regional center.
