In Vinnytsia region, on the Day of the Medical Worker, residents of the region received a liver transplant from a donor for the first time

On July 27, on the occasion of Medical Worker's Day, a liver transplant from a donor was performed for the first time in Vinnytsia Oblast. The transplantation was carried out on a female resident of Vinnytsia Oblast, born in 1968. The operation was her only chance at survival. The procedure took place at Vinnytsia Regional Pyrogov Hospital. The Chief of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Serhii Borzov, reported this information.

Dr. Dmytro Kharkov, a transplantologist from the "Feofania" Clinical Hospital, assisted in performing the transplantation.

The post also mentions that Pyrogov Hospital continues to enhance its reputation in the development of transplantation at the national level. Specifically, the hospital has increased the number of kidney transplantations. Recently, two residents of the region, a man born in 1975 and a woman born in 1981, underwent successful kidney transplants. In total, the hospital has performed seven such transplantations.

Earlier, a new angiograph was put into operation in Poltava Oblast for people who have experienced a myocardial infarction. On July 13, in Lubny Hospital, coronary angiography was performed using the new equipment for patients who had suffered from a heart attack. The local doctors and medical specialists from Poltava Oblast Cardiological Center operate the new angiograph. Additionally, colleagues from the Amosov Institute have also come to assist in the region.
