On July 30th, around 3:00 PM, a fatal road accident occurred in the Poltava region of Ukraine on the road between the villages of Proni and Stasi in the Poltava district. The incident was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Poltava region.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officials, a "RUTA" bus collided with a "Volkswagen Tiguan" car. As a result of the accident, the 40-year-old driver of the car and a 56-year-old passenger of the bus were killed at the scene.
Additionally, 11 people with various degrees of injuries, including one child, were taken to hospitals.
Authorities have determined that at the time of the collision, there were 17 passengers and the driver on the bus.
In connection with this incident, the police department, under the procedural guidance of the Poltava regional prosecutor's office, has launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 286, Part 3 (Violation of Road Traffic Safety Rules Leading to Multiple Deaths) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On the same day, the Russian army shelled a district in the Dnipropetrovsk region with artillery. Additionally, the air defense forces shot down two Iranian "Shahed 136/131" drones in the region.
