On July 29, in the cozy circle of family and friends in Novoukrainka, Artem Tantsyura was warmly welcomed as he returned home after a long period of being held in captivity. The details of the reunion were shared in the Novoukrainka City Council.
Artem was born and raised in his hometown of Novoukrainka. After completing 9th grade, he enrolled in the Kirovohrad Music School. Later, he was called up for military service and voluntarily signed a contract to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He continued his service in Mykolaiv.
While defending his homeland from invaders, Artem fell into captivity.
On June 11, 2023, Artem's family received the joyful news of his return home. The most important thing was that he was alive! On that day, Ukraine liberated 95 defenders from Russian captivity, and among them was Artem Tantsyura, a military musician of the 36th Brigade, a marine infantryman.
During the meeting, the Mayor of Novoukrainka, Oleksandr Korynnyi, expressed his gratitude to Artem for his bravery and courage and presented him with the community flag. The community, together with the warrior's family, had always believed that he was alive and would return home. In return, Artem presented the head of the community with the flag of the 36th Marine Infantry Brigade.
It's worth noting that on June 11, another 95 defenders of Ukraine were successfully liberated from Russian captivity, as reported by the Coordination Headquarters for Dealing with Prisoners of War. Among the freed were 51 representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (including 15 from territorial defense units), 29 from the National Guard of Ukraine, 11 border guards, and four naval personnel.
Among them were two officers, while the rest were enlisted soldiers and sergeants. These brave fighters defended various strategic locations, including Mariupol and Azovstal, Snake Island, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and the Donetsk direction, particularly Bahmut.
