In Poltava region, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) have arrested a deputy of one of the village councils who was a collaborator of the former MP Ilya Kiva. He provided information about the positions of Ukrainian troops on the Donetsk front and worked as a spotter for the enemy. This individual was part of Ilya Kiva's inner circle and had repeatedly turned to the former MP for assistance with his business affairs. To ascertain the location of Ukrainian troops, the deputy obtained information from his acquaintances who were defending Ukraine on the Donetsk front. After obtaining this information, the traitor would publish it on his Facebook page. Russian special services used this data to adjust their shelling of Ukrainian positions, including artillery attacks using Grad rocket systems.
In addition, in social media comments, this man discredited the command staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. His provocative posts were repeatedly used by Russian TV channels to prepare false reports about the war in Ukraine.
The traitor has already been charged under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to "Unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, actions, or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations established in accordance with Ukrainian laws." He is currently in custody without the right to post bail. The investigation is ongoing, and if convicted, the deputy could face up to 8 years of imprisonment.
It's worth noting that earlier in Poltava region, a military commissariat employee was arrested for accepting bribes in exchange for helping citizens evade military service.
