Rescuers from Vinnytsia region tested a modern Italian fire extinguishing unit (PHOTOS)

Vinnytsia rescuers have received additional capabilities for rapid fire extinguishing in enclosed spaces. Specifically, they will now be assisted by the Italian firefighting and waterjet cutting installation called "WJFE 300 Modular." The successful testing of this equipment by the rescuers was reported on the Facebook page of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Vinnytsia Oblast.

With the help of this installation, firefighters can drill holes in metal and cement-concrete structures, gaining quicker access to the location of the fire. Instead of using a blade or special saw, the installation utilizes a mixture of water and abrasive, which is delivered under high pressure. This mixture can penetrate wood, concrete, or metal within seconds. Once access to the closed premises is obtained, it is filled with a water mist, which turns into steam and saturates the environment. As a result, the fire's intensity and temperature within the space are reduced, enabling firefighters to extinguish the fire with fewer damages to property and the premises.

The firefighters from the fire and rescue units in Vinnytsia underwent three-day training to thoroughly understand all the characteristics and capabilities of the new equipment, and they put it to the test in practical scenarios.

Additionally, it was reported earlier that rescuers from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast had to combat a fire on 5 hectares of wheat fields that caught fire due to shelling from Russian occupiers.
