The Poltava region's championship in athletic throwing events was held for the first time in the village of Takhtauleve, Poltava district. The competition included boys and girls born in 2006-2007 and 2008-2009. Participants came from Kremenchuk, Pyriatyn, Lokhvitsa, and Poltava. According to the Poltava Regional Military Administration's website, here are the results:

In the age category 2006-2007, the winners were:

In javelin throwing: Anastasiia Reznikova from Kremenchuk and Vitalii Dub from Lokhvitsa.
In shot put and discus throwing: Mariia Holivets from Kremenchuk and Yaroslav Lystopad from Poltava.

In the age category 2008-2009, the winners were:

In javelin throwing: Daryna Slisarenko and Serhii Shmyhol from Poltava.
In shot put and discus throwing: Olha Matsyk from Lokhvitsa and Yehor Shlendyk from Kremenchuk.

The participants were prepared for the competition by coaches Victoria Kozlova, Anna Matsyk, Oleg Moroz, and Andrii Holivets.

Additionally, earlier, we reported that a judoka from Poltava, Yaroslav Omelchenko from Horyshni Plavni in the Kremenchuk district of Poltava region, won a bronze medal at the 2023 European Youth Olympic Festival held in Maribor, Slovenia. We also mentioned that athletes from Dnipropetrovsk region secured five medals at a European tournament, making up nearly half of all the medals won by the Ukrainian national team at the event.
